Want to deliver your WordPress emails using a SMTP server? We’ll show you how to use SMTP server to send your WordPress emails. WordPress uses PHP mail function to send emails about new user registrations, updates, comments, contact forms, password reset, etc. Due to the nature of PHP mail function, the originated emails are usually get into junk folder. Some popular email provider like,,, would end up blocking the emails from your WordPress based site. In this tutorial, we will show you how to properly configure WordPress to send emails using SMTP. There are many plugins for doing this, but for now we are going to use Post SMTP plugin. There are some advantages we can take when using this plugin if compared to the other similar ones, like the ability to see email log, ability to export-import configuration, etc.

Do not forget to test your SMTP Settings. WP Mail SMTP comes with an email testing tool. After saving your settings, scroll down to the bottom of the page and enter your email address. WP Mail SMTP will send a test message to the email address you provided. If you do not receive the test message, this means that WP Mail SMTP is not configured properly:

Hi Sir, I am dinesh patil. I am doing practice on wordpress for making websites. one day i had stuck at contact form because my submitted data was not send to respected email on gmail. That time I have read your article i.e.
I have applied this to my website and really works. Thank you for that help. My question is that can we hide our gmail password which we have to mention in function.php file in phpmailer function..? (As given in your above article……i,e, $phpmailer->Password = ‘your gmail password’; ). Because gmail password is very important. So if any solution is their for this query please reply me on my gmail account.
