Thanks for the practical advice Tom. I’m not clear on why you wouldn’t upload the image at the size that you want on your page? Won’t this save a bit on page speed?
Another useful option for Mac users is an app (on app store) called Photobulk (£3.99) that will resize and optimise at the same time – it also will rename and add a watermark. I just keep it in the dock and drag an image onto it, select one of my user defined presets and it’s done! Easy peasy.
